Which translated means "The Old Town" and that's literally what it is. A living museum of buildings each one deconstructed from somewhere in Denmark then brought here and rebuilt to make a town.
School trips here must be great fun. Costumes, cooking and cleaning out the stables in your bare feet seem to be the most popular activities. It all adds to the atmosphere and feel of this living museum.
